SOS stolen objects

 

If you have lost your cash card or your cheque book or they have been stolen please follow the advice below.



Lost or stolen cash card



> In France:

Immediately contact your Palatine branch or call the number given to you by your branch to cancel your card. If not, call the inter bank line at: 0 825 000 222

Go to the nearest police station to inform the police of your stolen card.


Send by fax or registered letter a copy of your claim to your branch.

 


> Abroad:


Call the local Visa card cancel centre: a bank or financial institution will be able to give you this number. If not, call the following number: (+ 33) 1 41 05 81 36



Go to the local authorities to inform them of your stolen or lost card. Afterwards, send a fax or a registered letter to your branch informing them of your lost card.



> Useful information:


On the cash machines at each bank there is an inter bank number which will enable you to find the cancel centre nearest you.

When you call, give the following information: your card number and expiry date. If not, the centre may ask you for the following information: surname, first name, address, date of birth, Palatine branch, and account number.



Lost or stolen cheque book



Immediately advise your Palatine branch or contact the Bank de France national cancel centre at: 0 892 68 32 08*

In the following 48 hours, you must send a written letter confirming the cancelling of your cheque book to your branch indicating the number of cheques stolen or lost. The letter can be registered with acknowledgement of receipt or you may contact your branch.

If stolen you will have to go to the police station nearest to where the cheque book was stolen to claim your stolen cheque and send a copy of this claim to your branch.

Safety precaution



* As soon as you receive your cash card sign the back of it.

* Memorise your password. Do not tell anyone your password and do not write it down anywhere.

* Enter your password making sure no one is looking over your shoulder.

* Carefully keep all your cash machine statements and receipts to check your expenses and to take action in case of litigation.
